All children will have a sense of dignity, experience the simple pleasures of life, and have opportunities for success.

In 2022, C4C was honored to receive a $15,000 grant from The Katherine John Murphy Foundation to support our work for children in foster care. This grant allowed us to implement a 2023 Back-to-School campaign (described below) for children and youth in foster care. The Murphy Foundation provides grants each year to organizations that give back to the greater Atlanta community.
As C4C began to develop its 2023 Back-to-School campaign, a unique partnership opportunity arose with Georgia’s Division of Children and Family Services (DFCS) Education Programming, Assessment and Consultation (EPAC) section. This provided C4C the opportunity to reach older youth in foster care placed with small providers across the state. C4C worked with EPAC program coordinators and education monitoring specialists to identify 120 youth in need. However, the need quickly grew, and the state identified 215 middle and high school students in need of backpacks and school supplies before the 2023-2024 school year.
Providers receiving backpacks and supplies for youth in their care included a home for female survivors of child sex trafficking, a second-chance home for young mothers, and several providers of shelter for children who have experienced abuse and neglect.
C4C’s Back-to-School campaign helps foster care providers financially and ensures that children receive the supplies they need to start the school year with confidence.
C4C continued to contribute to the DFCS Secret Santa campaign, which helps fulfill the wishes of thousands of children in foster care who are away from their families during the holiday season. C4C has contributed to this campaign with in-kind donations, fundraising efforts, and/or monetary donations, since its founding in 2001. We are proud to continue this support every year!
In 2023, C4C and Care Solutions, Inc. (CSI) began a new employee-directed giving initiative. In CSI’s formative years, employees were significantly involved in the company’s charitable efforts, including the founding of C4C. Now, the new CSI Employee Giving Program is designed to further engage the company’s larger, more diverse staff, who will be invited to seek out, discover, and nominate organizations and causes for C4C to support.
Our vision, that “All children will have a sense of dignity, experience the simple pleasures of life, and have opportunities for success,” has not changed; we are merely broadening our scope.
The intention is to give CSI’s employees a way to be more actively involved in giving — not only as donors themselves, but also as partners in identifying needs and worthy organizations in our community.
Stay tuned to learn about the impact of the CSI Employee Giving Program in 2024!
Thank you to our donors. Every time you donate, you make a difference in the lives of children and families in need!
